When I seen this coupon literally " pop " up on my screen this morning as I was scrolling my through my "coupon inbox ", I couldn't help but laugh. Why?

Because I realized Saturday evening that I was slap out of dish detergent ! And, the thought of having to go pay full price for a bottle was making me nauseous, seriously. I had bought TONS of dish detergent when it was FREE or close to FREE at the beginning of they year, and I could not for the life of me figure out what happened to it all.

Then, it dawned on me that the kids used it this summer when they were playing on the " slip and slide ". I knew they had used it, but it didn't really bother me at the time, bc "HEY", it was FREE !

But, I clearly panicked when I realized that i had already added water to the bottle to use every last drop there was in it, and I PRAYED that a coupon would come SOON !!

Well, I'll be john brown if we didn't get a coupon for FREE Gain dish liquid in the P&G insert yesterday ( Walmart did accept mine ).

So, when I came across this coupon this morning,I knew the Lord was providing for me once again. This particular detergent goes on sale regular at Publix as a BOGO, and with the $2.00 off two, you should get them for around .30 each or FREE :)

Isn't it amazing the little things that GOD does for us? I got dish detergent coupons coming out of the WAZOO !!

More Target "Finds"..Nothing FREE, but a few deals

I found a few more deals today at Target that I thought was worth mentioning..Not anything FREE, but there are a few deals to be had should you need the items now.

They have their boy's swim suits on sale 50% off, the ones that I saw was priced at $3.48. I always get BayLee a couple in the next size up for next year, sure beats having to pay $10-$20 for a new pair next summer.

FREE Gain Dish Detergent ?

As I was browsing the dish detergent at WalMart this afternoon ( Brunswick, GA ), I stumbled upon this:

Gain Dish Liquid for $.97..There was is $1.00 OFF coupon in the Proctor and Gamble that you should have received today for ANY Gain dish detergent. The one that is priced at $.97  is the small bottle, but hey..It's FREE after coupon !

Catch?? I am going to leave it up to you to try and score this one. Why? Because WalMart is notorious in not wanting to adjust the coupon down when an item is priced less than the value of coupon. Some cashiers will do it, some won't.

If you can get them to take it, GREAT !

When Money Has Power...

Acts 16:19-21 When the owners of the slave girl realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities.  They brought them before the magistrates and said, "These men are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to accept or practice."

You can hurt people in many ways, but when you hurt people in the pocketbook, people get all riled up. People get all riled up about money issues because people worship money. We may not want to admit we worship money. However, when our pocketbook is affected, we tend to take notice, stand up, and take action. Political fortunes rise and fall on the economy. In our modern world, we need money to survive. So when income is taken away, what takes away our income grabs our attention. To lead a more godly and devout spiritual life, we must make every effort to leave out money issues. Money issues will cloud our judgement, and make us do and say what we might never do or say otherwise. Paul and Silas were taken to court not just because they were throwing the city into an uproar, but because the owners of the slave girl lost any hope of making money from the slave girl's fortune telling. In our own time, selling sin and selling sinful practices generates billions of dollars for sin merchants.

Whenever the Christian faith stands in the way of sin merchants making money, the sin merchants will attack the faith. One way of Satan's attack upon our faith is taking down the icons of our faith that stand in the way of the sin merchants making their money. You may have heard the phrase, "follow the money". If you "follow the money" when you see what is happening in the world, eventually you will determine who is the sin merchant and who is truly righteous.

Should you allow money to have power over you , or are you going to have power over it?  As christians, who live frugally, we have the knowlege to have power over it.  God has provided us with a means to change our lives, with a simple piece of paper with a barcode printed on it.  I will admit that I have at times allowed money to effect my decisions, but with something so small, you can change the way the world see's you, as well as, how it see's itself.  It only takes one person to make a difference.  Is that one person you? 

This week, instead of focusing on money and the things you don't have.  Try focusing on God, and all the blessings you do have.

Tip when printing internet coupons :)

I have had several of you ask " How do I print more than one coupon when printing them online ? "

 When I am printing coupons, I am able to "click" on the "back" button which is located at the top of your screen on the left hand side. Most of you will see an " arrow or < ". Click on this button THREE times and you will be able to print another coupon. Don't click the back button more than three times, and you have to click on it at least three times. It may take some getting used too, but this works for me 98% of the time. Hope this helps :)

As Holly and I gear up with " re-vamping" the website with new features, we are asking our readers for suggestions.

For our local stores ( Brunswick, GA )..we mainly focus on Publix and CVS, because that is where we save the MOST money. We do advertise deals from Harris Teeter, Target, Harvey's ( and soon Walgreens since they now have a coupon policy ) when they have a sale that we think is a good deal. We will soon post deals from Rite-Aid as well since they are converting to their " UP's" rewards system.

BUT, since 1/2 of our readers are from out of state, spread out all the way from Maine to Alaska..We want our site to benefit ALL of our readers. And, to be honest..Posting Publix and CVS deals isn't going to help ya'll if you do not have those stores in your area.

So, the suggestion box for this weekend is: We want everyone to list 3 stores in their area that they would like to see coupon match ups for that  store each week. Once we get every one's feedback, we are going to try and narrow the list down to three and focus on those stores for match ups.

Target Accused Of Not Giving Full Value On Coupons ????

I wanted to share this article with you, because I know that a few of you have had issues at Target lately with coupons, and realizing afterwards that some of your coupons either didn't scan, or didn't take off the correct amount.

Before I get started on this and show you the article, let me say:

In my experience with Target, they have ALWAYS adjusted the coupon value down to the sale price of the item.

Example:

If I purchased something that was on sale for $3.69 and had a Q for $4.00 off, they would adjust the coupon value down to $3.69. I was fine with that, I just wanted my FREE item :) But, I assumed that because they adjusted the coupon value down on the coupon, that they were getting reimbursed for the adjusted amount, not the face value amount. Follow me ?

Well, Apparently that might not be the case, and Target is accused of not giving full value on coupons??

GO HERE to read the article. I am not sure what to think. Is it fraud for what they have been doing? I guess if they are getting the difference in sale price and value of coupon it is. I don't know..But, they say that they are " working " on this issue and should have it fixed soon. I am curious to where this is going to lead.

♥Savvy Savin' Suppers♥

I don't know about you but I like to try new recipes, and if I can keep the price down low, that make it all the better!  Well, each week I will be posting a new recipe (maybe an old favorite that's new to you) that will be less than $5 for a family of 4.  If you try the recipe's, please leave a comment below.  Also if you have a go to recipe that is less than $5, please post that as well.  I will try to incorporate sale items and freebies, that have been in our 6 week cycle.  So for now, Happy Clipping, Happy Cooking, and Happy Eating, on the low that is!

Pork-Chop Casserole

Ingredients:

1lb Porkchops (You can add more if you wish, for my family 1lb is plenty)

1Cup Long Grain White Rice

1 Small Can of Mushrooms (Can be omitted)

1 Can of Cream of Mushroom

2 Cans of Beef Consome'

1 Stick of Butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

In a fry pan, melt 2 Tablespoons of Butter.  Sear both sides of the pork chop to lock in flavor and juices.  Do not cook fully, they will continue to cook in oven.  I personally cut the bones out of my porkchops, but to each is own. 

In a 9 x 13 baking/casserole dish.  Pour one stick of melted butter in the bottom of the pan.  Sprinkle the one cup of rice over the butter. Sprinkle canned mushrooms over rice. In a seperate bowl, mix together the 1 can cream of mushroom and 2 cans consome' together.  Then pour of rice mixture.  Lay porkchops on top of all ingredients.  Cover with tin foil.  Bake in oven at 350 degrees for one full hour.  Take out of oven and let sit undisturbed for about 5-10 minutes.

Enjoy!

Publix regurally has Green Giant Steamers BOGO and you can score veggies for free or close to it.  Pair that with the casserole and you have a balanced meal!

Breakdown:

1lb Porkchops (.99 per lb )

1 cup Long Grain Rice  (Free at Harris Teeter Last Week)

1 small can mushrooms (.50)

1 Can Cream of Mushroom (.30) on sale last week at Publix

2 Cans of Beef Consome' (.60) on sale last week at Publix

1 Stick of Butter (.20)

Grand Total:  $2.59

With a price that low, you could have dinner and a "Simply Savvy Dessert"  for all under $5.00!
