This Sunday will be a little different from the other Sundays with Savvy Coupon Clippers.
Today, I am going to share with you a testimony about a woman, and how a simple gesture can change someones life.
Before I share her testimony, let me start by giving you the story behind her testimony.
A few months ago, around August when school was starting back; you probably remember all the coupons that were out for school supplies including the coupon for the FREE Post-It's. Little did I know at the time, that this coupon for the Post-It's was going to be a life changing event for someone else.
I was in Target, heading to buy a few markers, highlighters, pens, and Post-It notes that were going to be FREE or close to it. As I was in the school supplies area, I seen an older woman with her two grandchildren. She was trying to decide what supplies she could afford. As I was standing next to her, I felt OVERWHLEMED all the sudden, like this sudden force had come over me. Only, I knew it was GOD.
I walked over to this woman, and handed her the coupons, and explained to her that the Post-It coupons would make the Post-It's FREE! She looked at me; I could tell she was apprehensive so I began to tell her about how I have saved thousands using coupons and that she could do the same. I went on to tell her that I have been blessed with the usage of coupons, and that I firmly believe in giving back and helping others in need. I have been where most of these people are. I told her about the website, and gave her the web address. She even asked how much the website cost, and I of course told her it was FREE :)
This woman was so humbled by my gesture; I could just see it in her eyes. It made me feel great on the inside, knowing that I had just helped someone, even with the simple use of a coupon.
I NEVER expected to hear from this woman again, so when I received this email a few weeks ago, I was taken back and OVERWHLEMED with emotions.
Here is the email that I received from Mrs.Ida Grant ( she granted me permission to share her name with her story, hoping to help someone else ).
Hello,
I have been trying to find your contact info for weeks now and just found your business card that you handed me in store. I don't know that you would remember me. I know you meet lots of folks all the times. I was in the store one day with my grandbabys in target. I was buying school suppy's and you came up to me and handed me coupons for a small note pad of some sort. You told me to take them and that they would be free with the coupons.
You begin to tell me about your coupon sight and told me if would save me money. I ask you how much it would cost me and you told me it was free. I went home that night and got on your sight and I have been on there several times week. I have more groceries in my house and spend less money. I did not tell you that day that my husband had died week before and my girl left her 5 baby's with me to raise. I am 55 year old lady with bad health and no job living of social security.
You did not care what i looked like who i was you offered me help without ask me any questions. i am a firm believer in god and ministry. he is using you to minister to other people like me. i know god. But i don't give him enough credit.
You told me your story about god and how he provides even with coupons. You are right he does. i was able to pay my lights this month with the money i savd. god bless you for helping other folk like me. he will have a special place for you waiting . I just want to say thank you for saving me and my famly from being homeless. for making me make things right with the lord.
GOD BLESS,
Ida B Grant
The intent of this post is to share with each and every one of you, that you never know what someone's situation may be, or where they are in life. But, this is PROOF that what Holly and I teach is true:
“It is AMAZING how a small piece of paper with a barcode on it, can change your life forever”
The verse for the week is Savvy's verse:
"It is more blessed to give, than to receive" Acts 20:35
Blessings,
Rebekah
