A Proverbs 31 Woman...
I am not perfect and I certainly don't claim to be but I do try to be as good a christian, woman, wife and mother as I can be. I strive to be a Proverbs 31 Woman.
Proverbs 31 says a wife of noble character is worth more than rubies. "Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life." Proverbs 31: 11-12
Right there that tells you she is to do whatever he needs, he is to lack for nothing of value. She is to bring him no harm, only good; and she is to do it all the days of her life.
"She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
When I hear a sermon, read the bible or find scripture throughout my life I try to not only remember it but apply it to my life. I look at this scripture and think maybe just maybe I might be a Proverbs 31 Woman. My day begins before dawn, I coupon and buy groceries to provide for my husband and children. I have taken my property behind my house and planted a summer and winter garden, I see that all the work I do is profitable (not monetary but beneficial for my family) and because I cut corners, use coupons, shop sales and maximize our income, when I lay down at night I know I will be energized in the morning and my power will be on because what I saved with coupons this week, paid my power bill. I do all this in his name, thank him for all the good and bad in my life and pray that he will lead and guide me to do more and live as he.
Blessings!
Holly :)
