After numerous phone calls this morning regarding Publix and their coupon policy. Rebekah and myself decided to go to Publix and talk to the store manager, Tracie Reeves. We had a few questions for her basically just to clarify the coupon policy and issues people had been having.
1. $ OFF/ $$ PURCHASE
Publix will except 1 Publix $ OFF/ $$ PURCHASE and 1 Competitor $ OFF/ $$ PURCHASE.
example: one Publix and one Winn Dixie
2. Competitors:
Winn Dixies, Harveys, Save A Lot, Target, Walmart, Harris Teeter
(NO OTHER STORES, ONLY THESE)
We talked to Tracie for a long time. As we were discussing manufacturers coupons, store coupons and competitor coupons. Tracie pulled a coupon bag from one of the registers just so we could show her an example of a coupon. THIS IS THE MOST APPALLING THING OF THE DAY! I AM SO FRUSTRATED AND FRANKLY JUST ANGRY ABOUT THIS. Rebekah and myself touch on this and make it quite clear when we teach or seminars, so their should not be any "grey" area when it comes to this.
In the coupon bag we found numerous printable coupons that had simply been copied. I'm not sure if the people who haven't attended our seminars are aware of this but each coupon that is printed is specifically linked to your IP address. They can pull your name, your address and phone number from this individual numbers. Oddly enough, if you are going to commit coupon fraud be aware of the fact that your name is also on your coupon so this individual (I so want to put their name on here) will get a personal email and phone call from me regarding this. I am also sure that the store will do the same.
After speaking with Tracie, she specifically said, "It's the unethical people, like this, that is going to make couponing non-existent in Publix". From the mouth of the store manager, couponing will be fazed out because of people not being honest.
I want to thank all the honest people who are doing what they are supposed to do with couponing. Ya'll will be the one hurt the most when, couponing is gone.
To the unethical and dishonest people who are giving couponing a bad name, please rethink your ethics and do whats right.
Blessing!

I can relate to the frustration. Mind you, I err on caution and don't exploit the system (and if I have any questions I either ask or don't use the coupon in question). This week I was able to find 4 of the SOBE waters that were on sale at CVS. I pulled out 2 of the BOGO coupons from the SOBE site and the cashier immediately assumed they were copied. I had to show both her and the manager where each coupon had a unique code printed directly from the website. I sincerely hope that people don't ruin this for all of the honest coupon users!!!
This is a total disgrace. Nothing in life is FREE. Listen to what Holly and Rebekah are teaching us and how we can HELP each other and the community. NOT DO HARM!!! The Lord has blessed us with these Savvy girls and we are saving money and helping our community and churches. PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS BE DISCONTINUED BECAUSE OF ONE BAD EGG. Suggestion: MAYBE THE "BAD EGG" NAME SHOULD BE POSTED IN ALL GROCERY STORES TO READ.... "UNABLE TO ACCEPT COUPONS FROM _______________________. FOR A CERTAIN PERIOD OF TIME. IT IS A SHAME WHEN ADULTS HAVE TO BE TAUGHT RIGHT FROM WRONG!!!
I know what kind of coupons are coming through. Lowes for one. They are not a competitor. Some are from stores that are not even in the area, BI LO, Earth Fare, etc. Give people an inch and they take a mile. Also, all the coupons have to be sorted and counted. When a customer brings one coupon on a sheet of papter directly from their printer, it cannot be sent in like that. It has to be cut down. You two have been honest from the start, but there are a lot of people out there that are going to ruin it for the honest people. Yesterday a lady was mad because her two coupons exceeded the sale price and she didn't get money back. I mean seriously. Thanks for all you do.
