Changes to Publix Coupon Policy starting 10/1

Please keep in mind that this policy change is ONLY in effect for the Brunswick, GA location. Please check with your store manager, should you have any questions regarding that store's coupon policy. Holly and I were given permission to share this information will all of you.

Starting Oct.1,2010; the following changes will take place regarding coupons.

The following stores will be considered competitor's, and the coupons from these stores will be accepted:

Harvey's
Save-A-lot
Winn Dixie
Harris Teeter
WalMart
Target
Family Dollar
Dollar General

Coupons from the following stores will be not accepted:

Rite-Aid
CVS
Walgreens

Any other coupons from stores that are NOT in our general area will not be accepted.
Bi-LO, Lowes, Earth Fare, etc.
Also, "manufactured " coupons from Rite-Aid, CVS, or Walgreens will not be accepted. Publix will not accept Register Rewards, Extra Care Bucks, UP Rewards, or anything else that is related to the above stores.

"Overage" is allowed, with the EXCEPTION:

Publix WILL NOT allow overage when it is given with a competitor coupon.
Example: When purchasing an item with a Man Q and Store Q, overage will be allotted. When using a Man Q with a competitor Q, overage will not be given.

Only ONE competitor " dollars off " total purchase coupon will be accepted and can be used with ONE Publix "dollars off ". You will only be allowed to use ONE competitor " dollars off " coupon per day.

The cashiers and manager's will be receiving further training within the next few weeks, and that training will be focused on the use of competitor coupons as well as fraudulent coupons, and what they are to look for. Please do not commit coupon fraud, it really is not worth loosing your coupon privileges over.

There will also be clarification on the use of " rain checks ". They are in the process of a new system regarding the rain checks. I can tell you that as of now, you are limited to 10 quantities per item. If you request a rain check for 10 of an item, you have to purchase all 10 of them, IF they have that amount in stock. If they only have 8 of the 10, then they will allow  you to get 2 more when they receive that item. Once we have more information regarding the expiration dates and such, we will let you know.

Holly and I are learning that what is the "policy" at one location, is not the same at all locations; especially with the use of " rain  checks " and how many of an item you are actually able to request. But, we are glad that we have the opportunity to clarify this with our local store, and we will share with all of you any new information that we receive.

There will be no change in the use of " stacking " coupons..One Man Q, one store Q, and one competitor per each item.

Remember, these changes will not take effect until Oct.1,2010. There should be a copy of the new coupon policy located in front of the store within the week or so, so be sure to get one and keep it with you.

Please ask any questions you may have, we will try to answer them. If we don't have an answer, we will get one for you. I am really hoping that this new coupon policy will cut out the " grey " area in the use of coupons at Publix. Please respect the new policy and be savvy when using your coupons :)

Thanks,
Rebekah and Holly
